This module includes an overview of types of domestic violence and identifies key characteristics of the abuser, victims, and the effects of chronic exposure to domestic violence on children. This learning activity explores some reasons why victims of violence often stay in an abusive relationship, and warning signs of impending violence. This module features tips for efficient and effective interventions as well as methods to employ when you suspect domestic violence.
TARGET audience
This module is designed for nurses who are looking to increase their knowledge and confidence in their comprehension and approach to domestic violence assessment. The learner may be a new graduate or they may wish to expand their current knowledge base in signs and symptoms of domestic violence.
