This module includes a description of the chain of infection and its specific links, discussion of some common infectious agents, and identification of steps that can be taken to prevent or interrupt the transmission of infection.

This module is designed to meet the needs of individual health care providers in the acute and non-acute hospital setting looking to upgrade their knowledge in reference to infection control. The key to avoiding infection is education.

This module is designed for nurses who are looking to become knowledgeable and more confident in their comprehension and approach to infection control in an acute and non acute setting. The learner may be just beginning a new career or they may wish to expand their current knowledge base in infection control.
