Description

Job interviews are often conducted in less than an hour, so it’s important to use every minute effectively to obtain as much professional information as possible about a candidate. This training course demonstrates a 5-step process for conducting behavioral interviews.

This course features engaging dramatizations illustrating each step of the interview process. These steps start with introductions between the interviewer and candidate, and then providing the candidate with an overview of the interview process. They continue into the most important part of the interview, when the interviewer gathers information about the candidate’s work experience. After this the candidate is given the opportunity to ask questions, and at the conclusion of the interview the candidate is informed of the follow-up process. Viewers also learn three techniques to help to obtain behavioral information from candidates. These techniques include the following: providing feedback, interrupt and refocus, and, asking follow-up questions.

Viewers are taught the importance of being familiar with the legal aspects of interviewing and learn about the laws regulating the hiring process. The main federal regulations include: The Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VII), Civil Rights Act of 1991, The Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967, The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, and The Uniformed Services Employment Reemployment Rights Act of 1994. These laws protect candidates from being discriminated against.

Take this training course to learn how to effectively conduct behavioral based interviews, making it easier to eventually hire the right candidate for the job.
