Not so very long ago, sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) in children and young people was called a rare event.  Causes were almost always considered to be respiratory in nature, and resuscitation efforts were directed as such.  Outcomes were very dismal at the best.  However, what if we changed our understanding and actually evaluated more than just the "death" outcome?  Could these event be characterized by something simple and correctable?  Is there more that we need to know?
