Organization: Knowledge Essentials
Many states have their own laws regarding sexual harassment in the workplace and training for prevention. This course is part one of a four-part series for employees, in non-supervisory roles, who work in the state of Connecticut. This first part discusses the nature of sexual harassment, covers both state and federal legislation designed to protect any employee and the rights/responsibilities of their employer to address allegations of sexual harassment and inappropriate behaviors. It then teaches employees about reporting and the rights protecting employees in order to report harassment, advice for managers and supervisors, and consequences of harassing behavior. This part concludes by discussing case law, specifically Faragher vs. City of Boca Raton and its impacts on how the matter is approached in Connecticut today. Use this course among any new employees in your organization no matter their level or position within the organization. Employees must complete all four parts to comply with the law, so be sure to continue with Part 2.
